Raspberry pi 4 green light not flashing. What I can't do is get an ethernet connection working.

Raspberry pi 4 green light not flashing. The lights flash in this manner whether the micro SD is in or out. Running the Raspberry Pi without a cooling fan for a long time can lead to hardware damage. But when I connect the Pi to power, it is showing nothing except a rainbow colour screen and the green led is blinking 7 times. Have tried to format, write image to microSDHC card multiple times, the charger I'm currently using is 5V/1A. suppose it is dead? It would be great if there were a way to get it going again. I checked and 3v3 and 5v is there.
